Top Five Restaurants you should Visit



The world 50 best restaurant is a list of opinions and experiences of over 900 international restaurant industry experts. This list is produced by British magazine restaurant based on polls from international chefs, restaurateurs, gourmands, and restaurant critics.


How it is done



The lists of the world best restaurants are compiled by William Reed business media.The lists is created from the world dinner club world 50 best restaurant Academy, the academy consists of 900 international restaurant leaders, the Academy has 26 regions around the world, each region has 36 members which is made up of food critic, foodies, chefs, restaurateurs each of whom have seven votes. Out of the seven votes three are used to vote for restaurant outside their region.


There are other groups besides the 50 best restaurants academy that organizes and compile different restaurant awards.

Here is a quick look at the best five restaurant for the year 2014; the next award comes up in April this year. The lists are:

1.  Noma (Copenhagen, Denmark) 


Noma has held this award for three consecutive years. It is located in an 18 century warehouse on the water front of christianshavn in Copenhagen. Noma is a blending of two words Nordic and mad. It is the birth place of new Nordic cuisine. This restaurant is known for its super chef Rene Redzepi and his crew.


You will find Scandinavian delicacies like Icelandic seaweed, foresee deep sea fish and Greenlandic musk ox and sorrel. The cost of food for two without wine is $600.

2.  Celler de can Roca (Girona, spain)

Celler de Can Roca was founded in the year 1986 in an inauspicious suburb of Girona. This restaurant is run three brothers; Joan head chef, Josep sommelier and Jordi pastry chef who learnt every thing from their parents.

The food served at this restaurant are modern Spanish, the standout dishes here are charcoal grilled king prawn, king prawn sand, ink rocks, fried legs, head juice and King prawn essence. The cost of meal for two without wine is $390 - 480

3.  Osteria Francescana (Modena, Italy)

Osteria Francescana was opened in the year 1995, this restaurant is owned and run by Massimo Boturra who has balanced modern and traditional food. His menu has been divided into three lists which are the traditional dishes such as Bottura’s spectacular tortellini with Parmesan sauce and tagliatelle with ragù. Then there are the modern dishes such as such as the kitchen’s five ages of Parmesan and foie gras crunch and the newly developed dishes  such as camouflage.

The cost of meal for two without wine is $360 – 525


4.  Eleven Madison park (New York, USA)

This is a contemporary restaurant located at 11 Madison avenue Manahan    New York; it is own by Swiss born chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara. Eleven Madison Park offers a multi course tasting menu which focuses agricultural food on the centuries old culinary traditions.

The cost of meal for two without wine is $450.

5.  Dinner (London, England)

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal it is located at the Mandarin Oriental hotel London and was open in January 2011. The restaurant is headed by former Fat Duck chef Ashley Palmer Watts. The menu serve here is based on historical British dishes ranging from 14th to 19th centuries. Some of its dishes are scallops and peas with cucumber ketchup and bergamot cured mackerel salad.

The cost of meal for two without wine is $230.
